Bohus Fortress (Bohus fästning) is 14th Century fortress originally built by Norway. The historical site is easily accessible by bus from the Gothenburg city center and makes for a nice budget attraction and day trip for locals and tourists.
Arriving in Kungalv, you will see the Nordre älv River and the fortress from the road. Bohus Fortress lies along the old Norwegian–Swedish border in Kungälv, Bohuslän, Sweden, north east from Hisingen where the Göta river splits into two branches.

After the Bohus Fortress tour, there are 2 food options near to the fort. A fast food stall and a hotel restaurant.
A Smorgasbord!
The hotel buffet is a real Swedish smorgasbord. There is a large cold food salad bar, and hot food, as well as breads and spreads. If the buffet is almost over, you will have to pile up the plates in a hurry!

QUALITY:
GOOD! Swedish style, dishes were not very hot.
SERVICE:
GOOD! Friendly.
Buffet wasn’t replenished becuase this was flmed near the end of the lunch time.
There were flies in the dining area because the windows were open.
VERDICT:
Overall, SATISFIED. If you go to Bohus Fortress, Hotell Fars Hatt is a good ALL YOU CAN EAT lunch option nearby and perfect after a hike.
