LEE’S DONUTS AT GRANVILLE ISLAND PUBLIC MARKET
GOOD: Good portion size.
BAD: Price is a little high. Donuts are dense and a little dry.
Granville Island Public Market is PARTIALLY OPEN for business! Some vendors are open while others remain closed. Siegel’s Bagels, and Lee’s Donuts are open. During the pandemic PARKING IS FREE!
Lee’s Donuts has been on Granville Island for a very long time. Since 1979 they’ve been serving the community with sweet treats.
Lee’s Donuts recently had a renovation. A new logo and brighter cleaner look. Unfortunately, about a year ago they also cut items from their menu, focusing strictly on donuts. No more crepes!
Some longtime customers are not happy with the NEW Lee’s donuts.
It sounds like they were pressured to change their menu to suit Granville Island marketing.
Prices at Lee’s Donuts
$2.50 for one or $13.25 for Half Dozen or $25 a Dozen.
Fritter $5
Menu at Lee’s Donuts
Honey Dip, Honey Dew, Naked Chocolate, Homecut (plain), Jelly, Cinnamon, Powered, Bavarian, Coco Clouds.
Purchased 7 Donuts +tax/tip
Total $15.75
Recommend the naked chocolate and jelly, and plain.
PRICE:
$ CHEAP but priced high because of Granville Island location not because of the quality.
QUALITY:
OK. These donuts don’t look very fun or creative. Good portion size. Jelly donut had lots of filling. The donuts are dense but can be dry.
Many donuts are overly sweet and oily. Sugar doesn’t mean flavour!
SERVICE:
OK. Friendly straight to the point. The donut selection is minimal.
VERDICT:
Overall, MILDLY SATISFIED. Lee’s Donuts are not the best donuts out there but they offer a solid very sweet treat. A longtime local donut shop. They definitely deliver on the sweet.
