Gutom Staff Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen or simply ‘Popeyes’ is a very popular American fried chicken franchise. There are two locations in the Lower Mainland — Surrey and Port Coquitlam. This review is the POCO location.
So what’s the deal with Popeyes? Not only do they serve fried chicken, they also have seafood. Fried Shrimp and Fish which goes back to the Louisiana Kitchen style of food. They also have mashed potatoes, beans and rice, Cajun fries, corn on the cob for sides.

Fluffy, soft and crumbly.
PRICE:
$$ Pricey. Similar pricing to other fast fried chicken joints.
QUALITY:
Good. Crunchy, big pieces. Spicy fried chicken not too spicy. Fluffy, buttery, soft biscuits. The mash was ok.
SERVICE:
Ok. Seemed slow in comparison to KFC or Church’s Chicken. Friendly. Clean. Good seating with tables or bar seating.
VERDICT:
Popeye’s is a solid choice for fast food fried chicken. They also offer FISH and SHRIMP for seafood lovers. Put Popeyes on your list of FRIED food. If you’re coming from Vancouver, this location is pretty far out.
