Dim Sum Master is a new business on Granville Street. Previously this restaurant was called Kings Kitchen. Kings Kitchen is permanently closed and Dim Sum Master has moved in with new owners, and menu. In a city full of Dim Sum how does Dim Sum Master compare?
Dim Sum Master is different from Cantonese style Dim Sum restaurant. It’s a large restaurant with TVs like a sports bar fitting for Granville Street.
The menu at Dim Sum Master at the time of this video has a surprisingly limited Dim Sum/dumpling selection. The prices range from $6.99 Fried Chicken Wings to $13.99 Fried Rice, to $39.99 Goose Platter, and $89.99 for Foie Gras! From cheap to LUXURY prices.
The server says the hot sauce is made in-house.

Chiu Chow Dumpling, Pork and Chive Dumplings, Scallop Dumplings, Broccoli, Soup. The combo is like a dumpling sampler. Not served in steamers.

PRICE:
$-$$ FAIR PRICE. The $6.99 fried foods, and $9.99 Specials are a good deal. $13.99 for a six piece Dim Sum Combo seems high.
QUALITY:
OK! The Dim Sum is OK. Portion size seemed small and the way it’s prepared seemed WET and not served in steamers. The side of broccoli is nice and different from other Dim Sum restaurants. Fried chicken wings were delicious and served hot, a highlight of the meal. It seems the fried foods are more fresh and tasty than the Dim Sum. Curry Beef meatball was ok, tasty but could be served hotter.
SERVICE:
GOOD! The server was friendly, and helpful.
VERDICT:
Overall, SLIGHTLY SATISFIED. Dim Sum Master is a different style of Dim Sum and a Chinese food option on Granville Street. The Specials are fair priced. The fried foods are good CHEAP EATS and go well with alcoholic drinks perfect for Granville Street! Fried wings!
