The Amazing Brentwood is NOW OPEN! Brentwood Town Centre, now marketed as ‘The Amazing Brentwood’ is a mall in North Burnaby redeveloped as a hub for transit, shopping, and living. After many years of construction the new mall is now open.
Let’s take a walk and see if The Amazing Brentwood really is amazing. This walk was recorded on June 27, 2021 on a very hot day during the HEATWAVE!
Parking above ground is currently FREE for 3 hours.
Underground parking and certain areas around the mall are pay parking. Parking entrance is located on Willingdon.
Brentwood Town Centre is owned and managed by Shape Properties who also created Highstreet in Abbotsford, and Live at CF Richmond Centre.
Looks like many stores are still under construction. There must have been a big delay because of the pandemic. Currently open at the time of this video: Nike Store, Sporting Life, H&M, Sephora, and Adidas.
The ‘Signature Plaza’ main plaza area of The Amazing Brentwood is nice! Good seating with umbrellas. Still not completely finished as some businesses have yet to open.
The Skytrain entrance is very conveniently connected to the plaza.
McDonald’s and Starbucks a popular combo. McDonald’s not open yet at the time of this video.
A GRAND staircase is a main feature of The Amazing Brentwood, at the intersection of Willingdon and Lougheed. Most people might not use this staircase because the Skytrain and parking have different entrances to the mall.

Renting a place at The Amazing Brentwood starts at $2000 for 532 sf of indoor space!
This is the only Sporting Life in BC. Sporting Life is mostly in Ontario.
Access to the food court is through the Grand Lobby. It’s a little awkward because it seems more like an office building before getting to food or shopping. Lots of elevators but that’s not for shoppers.
The Rec Room by Cineplex. Restaurant, Bar and Arcade. Other cities have had Rec Room for a number of years now. There’s finally a Rec Room in BC in Burnaby! At the time of this video, Rec Room is not open.
The walkway to the food court is a feature of the mall. This also connects to the old mall.
Looks like a SELFIE SPOT.
TABLES the food court at The Amazing Brentwood! Let’s see what they have here. This place looks modern and different from other food courts. Not all the businesses are on the sides like at Metrotown.

Brentwood Mall opened in 1961! Then in 1980 they added a second floor. Can you tell this is the old part of the mall?
Overall, The Amazing Brentwood looks like a fresh take on the shopping mall in the Lower Mainland. At the time of this video TABLES Food Court looks good with an OK selection. STAY TUNED FOR PART 2 OF THE AMAZING BRENTWOOD: TABLES FOOD COURT.
