GUTOM TRAVELS: LOS ANGELES
LOS ANGELES FOOD AND TRAVEL GUIDE
NICKEL DINER DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES
GOOD: Nice atmosphere, good menu.
BAD: Dining as a group, your whole party needs to be there before they seat you.
Nickel Diner in Downtown Los Angeles is a retro diner with new-school food. The restaurant looks like the set of a movie with vintage signage, decor, and booths.
You’ll find Breakfast and Lunch classics: eggs, pancakes, burgers, and sandwiches, but also Mexican dishes, donuts and more! The food is definitely a mix of LA culture. One trip to Nickel Diner is not enough with so much food on the menu.
Nickel Diner makes all their jams in-house. They are also famous for their donuts, biscuits and pop tarts!

PRICE:
$ – $$ AFFORDABLE. After dish, drink, tax, and tip, expect to spend $15-$20 per person.
QUALITY:
GOOD. Fair portion size. Pop Tart was good but I wish it was served hot. Corned Beef Hash was good. Biscuits were a little on the dry side.
SERVICE:
GOOD. Friendly, and very patient with families who have kids and toddlers. However they won’t seat your party until everyone is there.
VERDICT:
Overall, SATISFIED. Nice atmosphere. Good for small groups. Not the cheapest breakfast in town but Nickel Diner is still a solid brunch destination in DTLA that offers classic diner dishes, with a homemade modern twist.
