SUMMER FESTIVAL
CARNAVAL DEL SOL 2022
LATIN FESTIVAL
July 10, 2022 – Vancouver’s Latin Festival Carnaval Del Sol was a HUGE SUCCESS! This year it was located at Jonathan Rogers Park, just a few blocks away from Olympic Village, and Cambie and West Broadway.
Carnaval Del Sol is a 3-DAY party! Sunday was the last day of the event, and it opened to a long line of hungry festival goers. Admission was FREE until 1PM!
There were quite a few vendors, and sponsored booths. Some cuisines you will find at Carnaval Del Sol — Colombian, Chilean, Mexican, Brazilian, Portuguese and more!
There were multiple stages for performances like traditional dance and music. There was even Nintendo with Mario Strikers demo and a stage for cooking demonstrations.
Some vendors also had unique Latin SNACKS, and ice cream! So much food, such a good time!
A big PLUS for this event was the water station to refill water bottles.
Also the limited time FREE ADMISSION is a BIG plus so you can spend more money on the vendors and FOOD. Free Admission was from opening til 1pm.
Overall a great event, packed with entertainment and food for the whole family. The park location is nice with grass so can sit and picnic.

In the meantime enjoy this live walk through of the festival before the lunch rush.
Things this festival should improve on
- More shade! The dining area was exposed and had no tent for shade. It was very hot!
- Lineups for vendors are often confusing
- Entrance to the GATED event was confusing, with no arrows pointing to where the entrance was. Expect to walk around the park to find the entrance!
- No coffee vendor. Latin cuisine is known for coffee!
- No pupusa vendor.
