GUTOM EATS! Mabuhay Supermarket Kingsway. Mabuhay is a small Asian market with Filipino products, produce, poultry and now HOT FILIPINO FOOD. In Filipino TURO TURO, which means point-point cafeteria style take out. Let’s see what’s new in 2022!
Not only does Mabuhay have Filipino take out, they also have Silog Filipino breakfast, BBQ Skewers, party trays, dessert, and LUNCH COMBOS. They also do a 30% OFF at 5:30PM! Very budget friendly, and the selection is very good! Plus you can buy groceries too.
The Turo Turo take out selection features all Filipino cuisine. There are no names for the dishes, so you will have to ask what the dishes are. Some dishes you will find Adobo, Kare Kare, Dinuguan, The hot food is freshest in the morning before lunch, and around 5:30PM.

Combo Meal Pork/Chicken $10.60
You get a choice of 2 Items and the combo comes with a side of RICE. The first item in the combo is Kare Kare Filipino style curry, and the second is Pork and Chicken Adobo. Both are traditional Filipino dishes.
Kare Kare
Combo dish. Filipino stew with pork in peanut sauce.
Adobo Pork/Chicken mix
Combo dish. Filipino favorite made with soy sauce, garlic, bay leaves, vinegar, black pepper.
Filipino dishes always go well with rice. The sauces are very tasty.
Empanada $2.25
Good portion size, lots of fillings and nice dough.
PRICE:
$-$$ FAIR PRICE. Cheap COMBO DEALS and MORE!
QUALITY:
GOOD! Quality is good for the price and portion size. The dishes are warm, and ‘made in the morning’. They don’t seem to skimp on ingredients and meat. The fried fish and empanadas are delicious!
SERVICE:
OK! One of the ladies working doesn’t know any names for the Filipino dishes, so you will want to wait for the Filipina server to serve you if you want proper tagalog service.
VERDICT:
Overall, SATISFIED. Good food, good prices, and convenient location. Nice to have this Filipino food addition to East Vancouver Filipinotown.
